Why did Rewards for Good become AARP Rewards?

Rewards for Good became AARP Rewards in order to enhance our platform to better inspire you to learn, prepare and get ahead of whatever life has ahead. Our focus remains activity usage and learning. AARP Rewards also offers more ways to earn, including videos, new fitness devices and apps.

AARP is here to inspire you to live your best life every day. AARP’s quizzes, tools and calculators will continue to be available on the website — even after the last day to earn points. These activities (plus more) are available in AARP Rewards.

I’ve heard there is a Welcome Bonus for the new program. How does it work?

As a token of our gratitude for your participation in Rewards for Good, we are giving you a welcome bonus when AARP Rewards is unveiled. This special bonus will be based on your engagement and tenure with Rewards for Good.

Your Welcome Bonus will be waiting for you after you opt-in and accept the Terms and Conditions of AARP Rewards. You must claim your bonus by December 31, 2019.

Redeeming Your Points

Why didn’t I have longer to use my points?

AARP Rewards for Good was offered to AARP members and registered users at the sole discretion of AARP. Our program’s terms and conditions allow no less than thirty (30) days to notify participants of the date to use all of their accumulated points. The Rewards for Good program was subject to availability and may change without notice as indicated in the Terms and Conditions.

We know the transition to AARP Rewards may have been difficult for some participants who have accumulated large point balances, which is why we tripled the amount of time listed in our terms and conditions to redeem the points you’ve earned before Rewards for Good evolved into AARP Rewards.

Can I cash in my Rewards for Good points?

Reward for Good Points have no cash value and may not be assigned, transferred and/or pledged to any third party except through the AARP Rewards for Good Points for Charity program when offered. Participants have no property rights or other legal interests in Points. Participants are responsible for any personal tax liability that may be related to participation Rewards for Good. There are no refunds, exchanges, replacements or conversions for currency, credit or rewards for unused amounts of Points.

Why can’t I donate more of my points to AARP Foundation?

When offered, points may be donated to AARP Foundation through AARP Rewards for Good. All donations are irreversible and final. Your point’s donation will connect vulnerable older adults with the assistance they need to take on challenges ranging from foreclosure prevention counseling to food assistance and more. The Rewards for Good program makes a direct cash donation based on a predetermined monthly cap that is funded by the program’s operating budget.

We know that our members love giving back, which is why this redemption option will be available in AARP Rewards later this year.

AARP Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. No goods or services will be provided to you in consideration for your contribution. Your contribution will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Please consult with your tax adviser.
