Redeeming Your Points

Why don’t I have longer to use my points?

AARP Rewards for Good is offered to AARP members and registered users at the sole discretion of AARP. Our program’s terms and conditions allow no less than thirty (30) days to notify participants of the date to use all of their accumulated points. The Rewards for Good program is subject to availability and may change without notice as indicated in the Terms and Conditions.

We know the transition to AARP Rewards may be difficult for some participants who have accumulated large point balances, which is why we tripled the amount of time listed in our terms and conditions to redeem the points you’ve earned before Rewards for Good evolves in September to AARP Rewards. We’ve also stocked up the Rewards for Good catalog with hundreds of new rewards and prizes, so you’ll have plenty to choose from before the program evolves to AARP Rewards. Look out for larger sweepstakes with more potential winners and even more points-only daily deals.

For more information on Rewards for Good Terms and Conditions, go here.

Can I cash in my points?

Reward for Good Points have no cash value and may not be assigned, transferred and/or pledged to any third party except through the AARP Rewards for Good Points for Charity program when offered. Participants have no property rights or other legal interests in Points. Participants are responsible for any personal tax liability that may be related to participation Rewards for Good. There are no refunds, exchanges, replacements or conversions for currency, credit or rewards for unused amounts of Points. For more information on points, read our full Rewards for Good Terms and Conditions here.

Why can’t I donate more of my points to AARP Foundation?

When offered, points may be donated to AARP Foundation through AARP Rewards for Good. All donations are irreversible and final. Your point’s donation will connect vulnerable older adults with the assistance they need to take on challenges ranging from foreclosure prevention counseling to food assistance and more. The Rewards for Good program makes a direct cash donation based on a predetermined monthly cap that is funded by the program’s operating budget.

During July and August, participants can donate up to 2,000 points per month to AARP Foundation. We know that our members love giving back, which is why this redemption option will be available in AARP Rewards later this year.

AARP Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. No goods or services will be provided to you in consideration for your contribution. Your contribution will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Please consult with your tax adviser.

Will I be able to use my points for items in the rewards catalog?

Yes. We encourage you to visit the Rewards Catalog to use your points before the program evolves in September. We’ve stocked up the Rewards for Good catalog with hundreds of new rewards and prizes. So, you’ll have plenty to choose from before the program becomes AARP Rewards.

What items will be available in the rewards catalog?

The rewards catalog will remain similar to what is offered today, with extra items added to give you additional ways to use your points.

Daily Deals:

We’ve loaded up the Daily Deals with extra point-only deals and more quantities. Check out the newest Daily Deal every day at 3 p.m. Be quick. Daily Deals sell out fast!

Sweepstakes:

There will be more opportunities for a chance to win sweepstakes. We have increased all sweepstakes entry limits from 50 to 200 tickets daily. The maximum number of entries will now be 200 tickets per day. This change will take effect starting with any new sweepstakes that begins after July 17.

In addition to increased entry limits, featured sweepstakes will have larger prizes and more winners. Daily sweepstakes winners have doubled from 20 to 40.

Merchandise:

We’ve doubled the inventory of merchandise available in the catalog and Daily Deals.

Have you been saving your points up for that special item? Auctions are a great way to use your points. The prizes are bigger than ever!

If I win a Rewards for Good Sweepstakes, how will I be notified?

All sweepstakes winners will be notified by email. Be sure that all of your contact information is correct so that if you are chosen as a lucky winner, we will be able to contact you. We will also list the latest winners on the Closed Sweepstakes Page.

Program Ending

What happens to my points after Rewards for Good ends?

Points will not carry over to AARP Rewards, and any unused Rewards for Good points will be lost. We know the transition to AARP Rewards may be difficult for some participants who have accumulated large point balances, which is why we tripled the amount of time listed in our Terms and Conditions to redeem the points you’ve earned before Rewards for Good evolves in September. We’ve also stocked up the Rewards for Good catalog with hundreds of new rewards and prizes, so you’ll have plenty to choose from before the program evolves.

Why don’t my Rewards for Good points carry over to AARP Rewards?

AARP Rewards will feature a new point-earning and -redeeming structure. Learning will continue to remain the focus of our program, and you will be able to continue to earn points for completing activities as you do today. AARP Rewards will have less focus on points and more focus on activities. AARP Rewards will also offer more ways to earn, including videos, more fitness trackers and apps, as well as additional activities like rewards for reaching milestones in swimming and cycling.

Will I receive updates regarding the end of Rewards for Good?

You will receive emails with friendly reminders highlighting key dates as Rewards for Good ends. The Rewards for Good pages on AARP.org will also be updated to reflect this information as well.

What will happen to my AARP.org account when Rewards for Good ends?

Your AARP.org account will not change after Rewards for Good ends. However, you will no longer earn points until you opt into the new AARP Rewards program.
